The woods in Lyrebird are as much of a character as Maggie herself, and Roan Mountain, TN serves as the perfect backdrop for such a forest. The shaded spruce canopies instantly capture the imagination and transport you to an otherworldly realm. These stills are comprised of numerous screen tests and mock-ups of key scenes with lead actress Catherine Atkinson, in hopes of establishing the visual palette of the film, as well as getting some valuable practice working in the elements.
HIGHLANDS, NC
A critical location in Lyrebird is its archetypal “cabin in the woods.” We needed something rustic yet inviting; warm yet austere. We found such a cabin near Highlands, NC. The owner graciously handed the keys over to us and we can’t wait to go back. This gallery is a collection of BTS and screen tests on our location scout to the cabin.
