DIRECTORS STATEMENT

Lyrebird is a cautionary tale about nefarious forces that seek to enter the world and the choices we make that invite them unwillingly. It is an exploration of trauma, recovery, and redemption, told through the lens of the psychological horror-thriller.

With 2020’s short film I’M STILL HERE and more recently MAGGIE AND THE MONSTER, I hoped to lay the groundwork for Lyrebird’s arrival; giving us a chance to get our bearings in front of and behind the camera, as well as priming the audience for the different characters, elements, and fears that Lyrebird has to offer. 

Nearly three years in the making from writing to screen testing, we are now embarking on the fundraising journey, with the tentative goal of shooting in the fall of 2024. We know Lyrebird will be a success, and we would love for you to be a part of that success with us. This is only the beginning.
